Polymer modified bituminous compositions which are stable against phase separation are provided at greater levels of incorporation of elastomeric polymer having a conjugated diene structure, such as styrene- butadiene rubbers, and/or cross-linking agent, specifically sulfur, by incremental addition of elastomeric polymer and/or cross-linking agent into the bitumen at elevated temperatures of about 150° to about 220 °C.

L'invention se rapporte à des compositions bitumineuses modifiées par des polymères. Ces compositions sont stables et résistent à la séparation des phases. Ces compositions présentent des niveaux supérieurs d'insertion d'un polymère élastomère présentant une structure diène conjugué, tel que des caoutchoucs butadiène-styrène, et/ou elles contiennent un agent de réticulation, en particulier du soufre. Ces compositions sont formées par ajout incrémentiel d'un polymère élastomère et/ou d'un agent de réticulation au bitume et ce, à des températures élevées situées entre environ 150 et environ 220 DEG C.
