The industrial roll of the present invention comprises a substantially cylindrical core, an adhesive layer overlying the core, and a cover overlying the adhesive layer. The cover comprises: a polymeric base layer overlying the adhesive layer; and a top stock layer overlying the base layer. The top stock layer comprises a mixture of an elastomeric material and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), with the mixture including 100 parts elastomeric material by weight and between about 25 and 50 parts UHMWPE by weight. With these components in the recited ratios, the roll can be formulated to a desired hardness within the desired 10 to 50 P & J hardness range while maintaining release properties suitable for papermaking in the papermaking environment.
L'invention concerne un cylindre industriel qui comprend une âme sensiblement cylindrique recouverte d'une couche adhésive elle-même recouverte d'un revêtement. Ce revêtement comprend une couche de base polymère recouvrant la couche adhésive et une couche supérieure recouvrant ladite couche de base. Cette couche supérieure comprend un mélange d'un matériau élastomère et de polyéthylène à poids moléculaire ultra élevé (UHMWPE). Ce mélange comprend 100 parties en poids de matériau élastomère et entre 25 et 50 parties en poids d'UHMWPE. Avec ces composants présents selon les rapports susmentionnés, ce cylindre peut être formé avec une dureté requise, dans la plage de dureté de 10 à 50 requise tout en maintenant des propriétés de dégagement requises pour la fabrication du papier dans l'environnement de l'industrie du papier.
