ABSTRACT A hydraulically damping sleeve spring used for supporting static loads (for example a transmission of a motor vehicle) and for damping vibrations and forces produced in connection with such loads. The spring consists of an outer tube which surrounds a single inner tube, an elastic spring body which interconnects the inner tube with the outer tube and includes, in addition to liquid filled chambers which communicate through throttling passages, at least one further chamber which is sealed, contains a filler material and is isolated from the remaining chamber or chambers. The additional chambers provide for a wider range of frequencies which may be dampened by the sleeve spring and for the possibility of arbitrarily selecting the damping ratios of the spring for different directions. The spring accommodates all forces transmitted during the operation of a motor vehicle with regard to resilient rigidity and damping.
