ABSTRACT In this invention, the stair sections are made to slide into closed or open position using rollers in a guide, thereby making it possible to open or close the stair automatically by use of electricity. The electricity operated stair is locked in the closed position by means of an electro-magnetic lock, which is automatically released when the motor is in the lowering mode.
