A termination fitting for an electric cable having an annular metal protective layer enclosed in an outer jacket of polymeric material comprises a metallic hub with a mounting spigot and a nut screwed to it (directly or indirectly). These hold in compression between them a deformable metal member comprising a base part bearing (directly or indirectly) on the nut and a number of fingers projecting longitudinally of the fitting from the base part towards the hub. The hub has a tapered female surface positioned to engage the fingers when the hub and the nut are screwed together and deflect them inwards towards the axis of the fitting and at least one of the fingers has a sharp distal end which is intended to pass through the outer jacket of the cable into direct mechanical engagement and electrical contact with its annular metallic protective layer. Thus the termination can be made without stripping the outer jacket and without separating the parts of the fitting, saving termination time; splaying of flexible armor is inhibited; and mechanical grip ("retention") is improved.
