ABSTRACT An electric cable has at least one polymeric- insulated conductor which is surrounded by a bedding layer made from a composition comprising a curable alkene homopolymer or copolymer, at least 55% of inert mineral filler, a low-smoke plasticiser, a curing agent for the polymer, and an antioxidant, which is enclosed in a sheath of low-flammability material. A heat-barrier is preferably interposed between the bedding and the sheath.
