ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electric drip coffeemaker wherein a unique electrical water heater is provided for heating water for brewing coffee and for keeping the coffee warm after it has been brewed. A sheathed electric resistance heater and a water tube are embodied in a casting of good thermal conductivity. The water tube provides heated water for brewing coffee, and the sheathed electric heating element is located on top of the water tube and close to the bottom of a carafe in which brewed coffee is stored so that heat may readily flow from the sheathed electric heater to the brewed coffee carafe.
