ELECTRIC FASTENER DRIVING TOOL Abstract of the Disclosure An electric fastener driving tool includes a vane carried by the armature and movable in a cylinder in response to movement of the armature in drive and return strokes. Movement of the vane in the cylinder during the return stroke displaces air through a restricted path thus preventing undesirable rebound. The vane is unloaded during the drive stroke by a check valve controlling flow through a bypass passage extending through the vane. The air path includes a portion surrounding the armature winding to cool the winding with air moved through the path by the vane.
