ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Electric fusion pipe fittings for use in connecting plastics pipes may be manufactured by forming a groove in a surface of a fitting by means of a cutting tool and laying a wire in the groove during the groove-forming operation. This method avoids the need for injection molding about a wire helix, and enables such fittings to be manufactured at lower cost than by the prior art.
