PHN 8591 ABSTRACT: Electric gas discharge lamp having a tubular ceramic discharge vessel which is provided with a ceramic end plug having a projecting portion which extends to out- side the end in the axial direction of the discharge vessel, the outside diameter of the projecting portion of the end plug being not more than 90% of the outside diameter of the discharge vessel, the projecting portion being provided by some clearance with a suspension element for the discharge vessel, so that the discharge vessel can be allowed slight movement in both longitudinal and transverse directions.
