ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure teaches an electric hotplate. of the invention there is provided an electric hotplate. The hotplate includes a hotplate member and electrical heating resistor means. A covering sheet covers at least the underside of a heated zone of the hotplate and the covering sheet has an opening. A flexible electrical connection means having heat resistant insolation is provided for connecting the heating resistor means to a source of electrical energy. A connecting member connects the flexible electrical connection means mechanically to each other near their end opposite to the heating resistor means, the connect- ing member being mounted as to be freely movable. The flexible electrical connection means is of sufficient length to enable the connecting member to be oper- ationally mounted outside the region of the hotplate.
