AECI 593 ABSTRACT "An Electric Initiator of Low Energy Fuse" A means is provided for initiating a low energy shock wave conductor fuse used in blasting. An initiating device comprises a body member containing two electrodes which penetrate an adjacent end of shock wave conductor fuse. The application of a voltage across the electrodes initiates the conductor fuse. The means eliminates the need to employ a detonator or other explosive device as a fuse initiator.
