#1 - Solar Panel The solar panel is used to recharge the battery under bright light conditions. A charge controller is not required because of the low wattage output of the solar panel. The size and shape of the solar panel may vary depending on the shape and size of the case as the solar panel is built into the case. #2 - Charge Controller The charge controller is used to prevent over charging of the battery when the battery is being charged from an external power supply, such as a wall transformer. #3 - External DC connector This low voltage, low current connector is used to connect the optional external power supply to recharge the battery. #4 - Main Battery The battery is used to power the inverter. #5 - Inverter The inverter changes the battery, DC voltage to AC voltage to power AC devices. The output can be 120VAC or 220VAC depending on the inverter. The inverter may or may not include power and fault indicators. #6 - Switch (Optional) This optional switch can be installed if there is no built-in switch on the inverter. #7 - Fuse This automotive style fuse is installed to protect the battery in case of excessive current load/short circuit from the inverter. #8 - Wall Transformer (Optional) This transformer is used to externally charge the battery. It is connected via the External DC Connector (#3). This transformer can have an input voltage of 120VAC or 220VAC depending on the type of transformer. #9 - Case The case can be may be any size or shape but must be large enough to fit all the internal components and it may be made of different materials, such as metal or plastic.
