Abstract For heating, a cordless iron (2) can be placed on a heating understructure (40) adapted to be connected to an electrical power supply system via a power supply cord (8). For this purpose, the power supply cord (8) has at its one end a power plug (14) adapted to be connected to the power supply system and at its other end a socket connector (18) adapted to be connected to the heating understructure (40). If the iron is to be heated constantly, the socket connector (18) can be disconnected from the heating understructure (40) for connection to the iron (2) direct. FIG. 1
