ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In an electric kettle which includes a water- heating vessel (1) and a supporting base-plate (14) connected to the power supply system by means of a flexible cord, it is no longer necessary to disconnect the supply cord before removing the vessel from its base-plate. The user simply pulls a trigger (20) housed within the kettle handle (21), thereby releasing electric coupling elements (16, 17 ; 18, 19) which connect the base-plate to the vessel.
