A permanent magnet electric machine (i.e.: motor/generator) having a magnetic flux circuit including a stator and a permanent magnet rotor mounted for rotation about an axis relative to the stator. The stator is of material having a Curie temperature, wherein magnetic flux circulation through the stator material is impeded when the stator material acquires a temperature above the Curie temperature. The stator includes heat conducting layers and magnetic flux conducting layers, where the thermal conductivity of the heat conducting layers is greater than the thermal conductivity of the magnetic flux conducting layers. Means for quickly effecting shutdown of the electric machine are provided with a heat exchanger thermally coupled to the stator, thereby regulating magnetic flux circulation through the stator material.
La présente invention concerne une machine électrique à aimant permanent (c'est-à-dire : moteur/génératrice) dans laquelle un circuit de flux magnétique comprend un stator et un rotor à aimant permanent monté de façon qu'il tourne autour d'un axe par rapport au stator. Le stator est réalisé dans un matériau possédant une température de Curie, la circulation du flux magnétique à travers le matériau du stator étant empêchée lorsque ledit matériau de stator atteint une température supérieure à la température de Curie. Le stator comprend des couches thermoconductrices et des couches conductrices de flux magnétique, la conductivité thermique des couches thermoconductrices étant supérieure à la conductivité thermique des couches conductrices de flux magnétique. Des moyens permettant d'arrêter rapidement la machine électrique sont équipés d'un échangeur de chaleur couplé thermiquement au stator, ce qui permet de réguler la circulation du flux magnétique à travers le matériau de stator.
