ABSTRACT In an electric motor fan unit having a motor section frame which encloses a motor ventilating fan for moving air through an internal motor cooling air path the frame includes an end bracket having an enlarged rim. A fan shell and interior partition structures are mounted on the enlarged rim and define a fan section housing and an inner chamber. The fan action housing has a chamber for a working air centrifugal impeller which is mounted on the motor shaft outboard of the end bracket and which draws a working air stream through an axial inlet for discharge at the circumference of the housing. Within the inner chamber a slinger disk is mounted on the shaft thereby to afford bearing protection from working air borne moisture, contaminants, and high temperature and humidity, by a simple, low cost, and durable structure.
