A B S T R A C T An electric motor stator and rotor are made by holding magnetic elements thereof in position in dies and injecting a plastics material into the dies to provide bearing carrier mountings substantially concentric with pole faces of the stator and poles of the rotor. The motor is completed by providing a bearing in the stator bearing carrier mounting and a shaft in the rotor bearing carrier mounting the shaft running also in a further bearing mounting tube. The motor and drive so made is mounted to drive an agitation and spin tub of a laundry machine.
