The invention relates to an electric motor such as the one described in document EP0 433 479 Al, namely a so-called brushless DC motor, having a stator with a hub and first stator pole teeth extending radially outwards therefrom with excitation coils and second stator pole teeth placed in-between the latter without excitation coils and a rotor fitted with a permanent magnet that can rotate around the stator. According to the invention, the rotor shaft bearing means (27) are directly built in the hub (5) of the stator (2) and the second stator teeth (8) are fixed on the base plate (4). The base plate (4) is made of sheet metal and has bosses (15) oriented towards the second stator pole teeth (8). The second stator pole teeth (8) have holes (13) through which the screws screwed on said bosses (15) extend.
