ABSTRACT "An Electric Starter for Igniter Cord" An electric starter has a casing that is tubular, having a clip formation at one end that defines a slot into which igniter cord may be inserted. A blind socket within the casing is closed off by a membrane that is adjacent the slot. Within the casing is an initiating charge in the form of a pellet that has a passage therethrough and an electric fusehead. When the fusehead is energized, it ignites the pellet and also causes the pressure in the casing to increase. The passage allows the increase in pressure to rupture the membrane such that the burning pellet ignites cord in the slot.
