A submersible pumping system for use downhole, wherein the system includes a first pump, a second pump, a recirculation coupling between the first and second pumps, and a recirculation line for directing cooling flow across the pump motor. The pumps and coupling are independent modular items connected together. Optionally, a multi-stage pump may be retrofitted with the coupling for creating a cooling flow.

L'invention concerne un système de pompage immergé pour une utilisation en fond de puits, le système incluant une première pompe, une seconde pompe, un raccord de recirculation entre la première et la seconde pompe et un conduit de recirculation destiné à diriger le flux de refroidissement sur le moteur de la pompe. Les pompes et le raccord sont des éléments modulaires indépendants reliés les uns aux autres. Éventuellement, une pompe à plusieurs étages peut être installée après coup avec le raccord afin de créer un flux de refroidissement.
