A B S T R A C T O F D I S C L O S U R E An electric toothbrush is disclosed having a brush component connected to an oscillatory or rotary drive with a timer actuable by a pressure-sensitive switch to time and indicate the duration of periods of operation of the toothbrush within a predetermined pressure range. Signal means may be provided to show the user whether the brush contact pressure is above or below the predetermined pressure range.
