05537 Abstract of the Disclosure The invention is directed to a toothbrush caused to rotate by electrical means, having a rotary bristle supporting structure (38) in which the bristle supporting structure (38) is arranged at an angle with respect to a longitudinal center line (52) of a brush section (24). The bristle supporting structure (38) is driven by a bevel gear train (42), such that the drive shaft (34, 75) of the bristle supporting structure (38) acts as an axial securing means for the bristle supporting structure (38). In addition, the torque is introduced in the bristle supporting structure (38) in a manner such as to ensure safe meshing of the teeth of the bevel gear train (42) even in the presence of a certain amount of wear. (FIG. 2) 20 Sep 90/BH.
