ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electric utility load management terminal for receiving power line carrier signals includes a first circuit portion located in a base, and a second circuit portion located in a removable cover. The second portion has a sole DC connection to power line distribution con- ductors through a disconnect device having a plate termin- al attached to the base and a wire terminal attached to the cover. Removal of the cover is effective to electric- ally and mechanically isolate the wire terminal from the plate terminal such that all of the second circuit portion is at a potential below that capable of causing injury.
