D-22067 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electric baseboard heater adapted to be flush mounted against a flat wall surface. The housing of the heater has a flat rear wall with an aperture therein to permit manual access to the interior. A cover plate is removably mountable on the housing for covering the aperture. A cable clamping member on the housing adjacent to the lower edge of the aperture extends forward of the rear wall and has a surface for accom- modating a power cable passing into the interior of the housing. When the cover plate is positioned to cover the aperture, the lower end portion of the cover plate contacts the power cable. The cover plate is secured in position covering the aperture by a fastening screw which urges the lower end portion of the cover plate toward the cable clamping member on the housing thus clamping the power cable between them.
