ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed an electrical appliance in which tensile and compressive forces acting on the power supply cable are not transferred to the plug and socket, although the cable is not clamped. In addition, assembly can be effected without manual handling. The power supply cable terminates in a solid insulator in which contact studs, connected to the conductors of the cable, are embedded. The insulator is held by a plurality of retaining hooks moulded to the base, and is a plastic injection moulding. The electrical appliance according to the invention is preferably for household use.
