The electrical cable has a double-layer conductor insulation whose inner layer consists of a halogen-free, flame-retardant polymer network and whose outer layer at least partly comprises an oil-resistant plastic. According to the invention, the inner layer consists of a polyolefin containing aluminium hydroxide and/or magnesium hydroxide and the outer layer consists of a polyester elastomer, compatible with the polyolefin of the inner layer, and/or a mechanically strong polymer. According to the invention, the polymers of the two layers are chosen so that the latter adhere to one another in the extruded state. To increase the adhesion between the two layers further, a compatibilizer (e.g. a block copolymer) or a reactive terpolymer which permits linking of functional groups between the layers can additionally be mixed with the at least one polymer of the inner layer and/or with the at least one polymer of the outer layer.
