Abstract This invention relates to a very cost saving, practical and convenient method of providing the necessary grounding wire in the concealed low voltage 2-wire (one live phase, one neutral) electrical wiring system in buildings where such grounding wire was not taken into account during initial installation of the power supply. Particularly, for this invention the owners of such buildings will not be, in near future, subjected to replace the previously installed 2-wire cables (without grounding wire) if such cables satisfy necessary insulation and other tests, by proper 3-wire grounding type cables; on the other hand this will enable them to achieve the same purpose by externally installing a suitable non-combustible single conductor grounding cable or cord, as the third wire of 3-wire system, from the supply ground terminal as located in the main circuit breaker and by terminating it to the existing outlet boxes namely electrical utility, junction or . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . similar boxes through their respective modified cover plates For electrical safety reasons this will also encourage the owners of such buildings to have all previously installed 2-pin receptacle outlets replaced by 3-pin grounding type ones and to have the grounding pins bonded to system grounding wire. Lastly the manufacturers of all portable domestic appliances, tools, home entertainment and other equipment will have no objection in making their products with integral 3-pin grounding type male connectors along with proper detachable cord-sets where applicable, or with supply cords terminating, where applicable, in molded-on 3-pin grounding type male attachment-plug caps; this will not only make their products more reliable and safer but also will reduce their design, manufacturing and other associated costs in indirect ways. It will be a demonstrating effort and decision of the Government, affiliated authorities, electrical utilities, industries and the owners of old buildings to make this change- over.
