9413 ABSTRACT An electrical connection to a flat metal conductor (35) in which a terminal tab (12) pierces completely through a conductor (35) from a first side to a second side and a bifurcated portion (15) integrally joined to the tab (12) extends past the conductor (35) with a pair of tines (16) curled back on themselves penetrating the second side of the conductor (35) and straddling the tab (12) which lies in a plane parallel to the axis of curl. Portions of the conductor (35) engaging the edges of the tab (12) are pushed out of the plane of the conductor (35) in wedging engagement with adjacent edges of the respective tines (16). The terminal (11) is stamped and formed in one-piece and the tab (12) and the bifurcated portion (15) extend in parallel planes in the same direction axially of a socket and are joined by a transverse bridging portion (14).
