ABSTRACT An electrical connector for interconnection of circuit boards in sandwich fashion comprises a contact element embedded between layers of elas- tomeric material. The element comprises S-shaped portions extending from op- posite sides of a central bight, with free ends having contact extensions ex- posed at opposite sides of the elastomeric body formed by the layers. In a method of manufacture a series of elements is formed as a ladder strip in- cluding a carrier portion which is fed between strips of elastomer which are bonded together before the carrier is severed.
