ABSTRACT An electrical connector assembly comprises first and second matable connectors each comprising a housing carrying a plurality of electrical terminals matable with the terminals of the other connector, and latching means to latch the connectors together in the mated condition, the latching means comprising a U-shaped spring member having inwardly directed projections at the free ends of its arms, the spring member being engageable about the housing of the first connector with the projections projecting through apertures in the housing of the first connector to engage the housing of the second connector thereby to latch the connectors together in the mated condition.
