ABSTRACT A "free standing" electrical connector assembly comprises a plurality of electrical terminals each having a contact portion contained in an insulating housing and a terminal post projecting from the housing and having an enlarged portion for insulating in a hole in a printed circuit board. The posts are aligned in parallel relationship by means of an insulating strip through holes in which free ends of the posts extend. The material of the strip and the thickness thereof are such that the enlarged portions of the posts can be forced through the holes in the strip and into the holes in the printed circuit board. Apparatus for, and a method of, manufacturing the assembly are also disclosed.
