ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for retaining a solderless electronic component, such as a integrated circuit socket, on a printed circuit board. The device comprises a metal plate which includes a central section and a pair of downwardly extending legs. The central section overlies a portion of the electronic component while the legs extend below the lower surface of the component and are press-fit into aligned holes in the printed circuit board. The metal retaining member also serves as a heat sink for the electronic component.
