ABSTRACT: The assembly comprises a first insulating housing having terminal receiving through cavities each having therein a resilient locking lance, and a second insulating housing having through cavities. There projects from the front face of the second housing a row of locking lance actuating tongues. In a terminal loading position of the housings the front face of the second housing is spaced from the front face of the first housing so that each tongue projects to some extent beneath a respective locking lance. In this loading position, an electrical terminal connected to a lead is inserted through each cavity of the second housing into a cavity of the first housing. The housings are then moved relatively towards one another into a terminal locking position, so that each tongue is advanced further beneath the corresponding lance to lock the terminal in the cavity. Pawl and ratchet means are provided on the housings for locating them in their loading and locking positions.
