ABSTRACT An improved electrical connector assembly having a connector body or shell and a retention disc in the shell for assuring alignment of electrical contacts when engaging the one shell with another. The disc must be properly fitted and maintained within the shell. To this end, the shell is provided with an internal recess for locating and retaining the disc. The disc is forced through the shell into the recess. The disc and shell are provided with cam surfaces to aid in elastically deforming them while moving the disc into place into the recess within the shell.
