ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electrical connector includes a main body and a separate electrical component retention member which meet at an interface. The connector contacts are positioned in grooves ending in enlarged areas for receiving terminals of an electrical component such as a transformer. The component extends rearwardly from the interface and is retained in an opening in the retention member and the retention member is press fit onto the rear of the main body portion to removably hold the component in plane and align the component with corresponding contacts of the connector.
