- 1 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electrical converter with a pulse number of 6n where n is an integer, for a high-voltage direct current equipment, has n six-pulse converter bridges. Each bridge is connec- ted to an a.c. network via a transformer. The transformers are constructed and connected in such a way that no line- to-line voltage on the bridge side of any transformer lies in phase with or in opposition to any phase or line-to-line voltage in the a.c. network. Preferably, the transformers for, for example, the pulse numbers 6 and 12, are arranged so that the voltage systems on their bridge sides are offset in phase by 15° (in the case of six-pulse) or ?15° (in the case of twelve-pulse with respect to the voltage system in the a.c. network.
