An evaporator includes a housing, a bottle containing a substance to be evaporated, a wick having a lower portion disposed within the bottle and an upper portion protruding from the bottle, a heating device disposed within the housing at a position proximate to the upper portion of the wick, and an adjustment mechanism within the housing for displacing at least the upper portion of the wick toward or away from the heating device in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the wick. In a preferred embodiment, the adjustment mechanism includes a hollow cylindrical portion that engages the upper portion of the wick, and a dial portion for rotating the hollow cylindrical portion about an axis of rotation.
L'invention concerne un évaporateur qui comprend un boîtier, une bouteille contenant une substance devant être évaporée, une mèche possédant une partie inférieure placée dans la bouteille et une partie supérieure en saillie par rapport à la bouteille, un dispositif de chauffage placé dans le boîtier dans emplacement proche de la partie supérieure de la mèche, et un mécanisme de réglage situé dans le boîtier et permettant de déplacer au moins la partie supérieure de la mèche vers le dispositif de chauffage ou loin de celui-ci, dans une direction sensiblement perpendiculaire à l'axe longitudinal de la mèche. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré de cette invention, le mécanisme de réglage comprend une partie cylindrique creuse qui s'engage avec la partie supérieure de la mèche, et une partie disque destinée à faire tourner la partie cylindrique creuse autour d'un axe de rotation.
