A generator (10) for converting mechanical energy to electrical energy is described. The generator (10) includes a housing (12) which rotatably supports a shaft (14). Two sets of coils, a set of primary coils (36), (38), (40), (42), (44), and (46), and a plurality of secondary coils (48), (50), (52), (54), (56), and (58), are fixedly supported by the housing wall (12). The primary and secondary coils are axially spaced apart from one another. Each of them is connected via a diode (64) to a respective one of the secondary coils. A set of permanent magnets is fixed to the shaft (14) and positioned such that the magnets are surrounded by the set of primary coils. A set of armature coils are also supported by the shaft (14) such that the armature coils are surrounded by the set of secondary coils. Current generated in the armature coils is collected using a brush and slip ring arrangement and is conducted out of the generator housing by wires.
L'invention concerne un générateur (10) pour convertir l'énergie mécanique en énergie électrique. Ledit générateur (10) comporte une enveloppe (12) qui supporte rotatif un arbre (14). Deux ensembles d'enroulements, un ensemble d'enroulements primaires (36,38, 40, 42, 44, 46) et plusieurs enroulements secondaires (48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58) sont supportés fixes par la paroi de l'enveloppe (12). Les enroulements primaires et secondaires sont séparés axialement les uns des autres et chacun est connecté, par une diode (64), à l'enroulement secondaire respectif. Un ensemble d'aimants permanents est fixé à l'arbre (14) et est positionné, de manière que les aimants soient entourés par l'ensemble d'enroulements primaires. Un ensemble de bobines d'induit est également supporté par l'arbre (14), de manière que lesdites bobines d'induit soient entourées par l'ensemble des enroulements secondaires. Le courant généré dans les bobines d'induit est collecté au moyen d'un ensemble brosses et bagues collectrices et est acheminé à l'extérieur de l'enveloppe du générateur, par des fils.
