ELECTRICAL-INSULATING PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE TAPE Abstract The electrical-insulating pressure-sensitive adhesive tape 10C can be produced by (l) forming a fluffy web 10 of oriented polymeric fibers, (2) simultaneously squeezing and saturating the fluffy web between rolls 14, 16 with a crosslinkable polymeric resin in a volatile vehicle, and (3) heating in an oven 22 to drive off the vehicle. The resultant tape can be produced at a cost comparable to that of paper-backed tapes while possessing tear strength, resistance to heat and electrical-insulating properties comparable to those of more expensive tapes of the prior art.
