An inverter for converting a DC voltage into an AC voltage comprising a full- bridge circuit having four silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) switches, two pulse control circuits for generating control voltage signals to turn on alternate pairs of said switches, a time sequencing circuit, and a power switch circuit. The full bridge circuit is directly connected to a positive DC input terminal and is coupled through the power switch circuit to a negative DC input terminal. The time sequencing circuit generates a first pulse signal for controlling the first pulse control circuit and a second pulse signal for controlling the second pulse control circuit so that the first pulse signal and the second pulse signal are in phase opposition. The time sequencing circuit further generates an intermittent cycle pulse signal for turning the power switch circuit off during periods between a pulse of the first pulse signal and a pulse of the second pulse signal. The inverter according to the present invention may be of a size and weight which are compatible for use in small type UPS systems, while still providing safe and reliable operation.

L'invention porte sur un onduleur convertissant une tension c.c. en tension c.a. comportant un circuit en pont complet comportant quatre commutateurs à redresseur commandés au silicium, deux circuits de commande d'impulsions générant des signaux de commande de tension activant des paires alternées desdits commutateurs, un circuit de séquencement temporel, et un circuit de commutation de puissance. Le circuit en pont complet est relié directement à la borne positive d'alimentation en c.c., et relié via le circuit de commutation de puissance à la borne négative d'alimentation en c.c.. Le circuit de séquencement temporel génère un premier signal pulsé commandant le premier circuit de commande d'impulsions, et un deuxième signal pulsé commandant le deuxième circuit de commande d'impulsions de manière à ce que le premier signal pulsé et le deuxième signal pulsé soient en opposition de phase. Le circuit de séquencement temporel génère pour sa part un signal pulsé cyclique intermittent désactivant le circuit de commutation de puissance pendant les périodes séparant une impulsion du premier signal pulsé d'une impulsion du deuxième signal pulsé. L'onduleur objet de la présente invention peut présenter une taille et un poids compatibles pour son utilisation dans de petits systèmes à alimentation non interruptible tout en fonctionnant de façon sûre et fiable.
