In the jackbox (10), connectors (14) are releasably connectable to leads (16). The jackbox (10) has an openable enclosure. When closed, the enclosure substantially surrounds the connectors (14) and ends of the leads (16). Some embodiments of the jackbox (10) have no enclosure or have an enclosure not permitting user access to the interior. Enclosures are made of resilient and relatively non-deformable, semi-deformable, or deformable material. To improve access to the connectors (14), one or more of the connectors (14) are movable in response to motion of the enclosure and/or are arranged in a space-saving nested relationship. Connector (14) nesting can be between electrical connections substantially overlying one another or only partially overlapping one another. Highly preferred embodiments have connectors (14) arranged in sets of partially overlapping electrical connections. Also, each set is offset with respect to the set or sets of connectors (14) located therebehind. The connectors (14) are also arranged to prevent inadvertent disconnection of the leads (16) and to prevent the transmission of pulling force upon the leads outside of the jackbox to the electrical connections inside the jackbox.
L'invention concerne un boîtier de fiches (10) dans lequel des connecteurs (14) sont reliés amovibles à des conducteurs (16). Le boîtier (10) a une enceinte qui peut être ouverte. En position fermée, cette enceinte entoure sensiblement les connecteurs (14) et les extrémités des conducteurs (16). Dans certaines variantes, le boîtier (10) ne comporte aucune enceinte ou bien comporte une enceinte ne permettant pas l'accès des utilisateurs à l'intérieur du boîtier. Les enceintes sont en matériau souple et relativement non déformable, semi-déformable ou déformable. Pour améliorer l'accès aux connecteurs (14), un ou plusieurs connecteurs (14) sont conçus de manière à être déplacés en réaction à un mouvement de l'enceinte, et/ou ils sont disposés en relation emboîtée afin de gagner de l'espace. L'emboîtement des connecteurs (14) peut être matérialisé entre des connexions électriques, les connecteurs se superposant sensiblement ou bien se chevauchant seulement en partie. De préférence, les connecteurs (14) sont disposés en séries de connexions électriques à chevauchement partiel. En outre, chaque série est décalée par rapport à la série ou aux séries de connecteurs (14) situés en arrière. Par ailleurs, la disposition des connecteurs (14) permet d'éviter la déconnexion accidentelle des conducteurs (16) et d'empêcher la transmission aux connexions électriques à l'intérieur du boîtier d'une force de traction exercée sur les conducteurs en dehors du boîtier.
