The electric kettle comprises a water container (1) and an electric resistance (2) for heating up this water, this container resting on a stand (3) into which penetrates the electric supply lead of the kettle, the lateral wall (5) of the container (1) carrying a control and electrical-connection block (6) from which project pins (7, 8) which come into contact with conductive blades (10, 11) housed in a protuberance (13) of the stand (3). The pins (7, 8) are bent substantially at right angles, apertures (14) being provided only on the top (18) of the protuberance (13) of the stand (3) to receive the end of said pins (7, 8) and to guide the latter toward the blades (10, 11). Use, in particular, to achieve greater safety when using electric kettles.
