23724-172 ABSTRACT Disclosed is an electrical plug and socket connector in which hand actuated spring leg detent hooks are arranged on the narrow sides of the connector piece with a test adapter seated on the rear thereof, mating detent members for these spring leg detent hooks being provided at appropriate spots in the inner side wall areas of the associated base. If the connector piece is plugged rearwardly inside the base, the detent elements cause it to be pre-locked into position for subsequent screw connection from the front on the outside between the connector piece and the base. If need be, the pre-lock can be released by hand by simply actuating the spring leg detent hooks.
