An advanced moulded electrical plug is described, comprising a face plate abutting the power blades, moulded into the plug body so as to constitute an integrated part of the plug. The face plate is made from a plastic material having a melting temperature higher than the melting temperature of the plug body material, typically PVC. An example of the face plate material is the material which is sold by General Electric under the trade-mark VALOX. The face plate is provided with protrusions for closely engaging with the plug body, and the front side of the plug is preferably provided with a groove around the periphery of the face plate, for preventing the underflow of PVC during the moulding.
