Disclosed is an electrical receptacle guard attachment apparatus. The apparatus is for use with a vehicle of the type having a trailer hitch receiver and an electrical receptacle for trailer lighting disposed adjacent said receiver. The apparatus comprises: a first portion adapted for releasable, secure receipt by said receiver; and a second portion secured to the first portion to lie rearwardly from and shield said receptacle when the first portion is releasably, securely received by said receiver.
