9357 ABSTRACT A switch for mounting on a substrate comprises a housing (1) for substantially U-shaped cross-section the side walls (2) being formed with cantilever arms (4) which extend obliquely inwardly of the housing (1). A slider (9) mounted in the housing (1) and carrying contact members (13), is formed with shoulders (11) which engage over the arms (4) to retain the slider (9) in the housing (1). The free ends (6) of the arms (4) engage scalloped surfaces (12) on the slider (9) to provide a detent action.
