9222 ABSTRACT A terminal for use in a zero insertion force printed circuit edge connector comprises a fixed mounting portion and a contact portion with first bowed contact surfaces for engaging a conductor of a printed circuit hoard inserted into the connector along an insertion path. For wiping the conductor free from contaminants, the contact portion is provided with a cantilever beam portion having a bowed second contact surface which engages the conductor prior to the first contact surfaces, so that the beam portion swings about its connection with the remainder of the contact portion to wipe the conductor. The invention also concerns a zero insertion force circuit board connector provided with such terminals.
