A high pressure spraying system is provided using an electromechanical actuator that slowly throttles up a high pressure supply, but quickly dumps pressure should the system be deactivated. The system is activated and deactivated through triggers in a spray gun, which are coupled through an isolated switching amplifier, through a tie-down circuit, and to an actuator control module which controls the actuator.
