An electrically heated mudflap is disclosed for use in the fender well structure of a vehicle which includes electrical heating elements located within the mudflap. The electrical heating elements are operatively connected to the vehicle's electrical system. By energizing the heating elements, accumulated snow and ice will be melted away from the fender area of the vehicle, thereby increasing vehicle handling and stability. The heated mudflap may be fastened to the vehicle's fender well through the utilization of any known fastener devices. The heated mudflap may be connected to the vehicle's electrical system through the utilization of any known electrical connector devices. The heated mudflap may be retrofitted to existing vehicles or employed in new vehicle design.
